Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been earned on hardcourt
A revitalized the Russian player claimed his maiden trophy for 882 days with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the Almaty Open championship match.
Medvedev, a former world number one, has had a torrid period, achieving just a single victory at the major tournaments and suffering a setback at the American major.
His unpredictability on the professional circuit - and struggles with his service game in specific - led to him dropping out of the elite rankings and eventually parting ways with long-term mentor Cervara.
Currently working with his coach and Goetzke, he has consistently advanced in the past month - climaxing in a closely contested competitive triumph over opponent Moutet.
This represents Medvedev's maiden championship after the Italian tournament and first on a hard surface from spring of 2023.
The win also signifies he has secured twenty-one championships at twenty-one various competitions.
"It's the first time I am participating in a competition with my two daughters simultaneously, so to secure a trophy is really nice," said world number 14 the champion.
"This title is in dedication of my second daughter Victoria, because the maiden victory I got when my older daughter Alisa was born was for her."
Medvedev, the former major winner, had been defeated in his last six championship matches, including in that event earlier this year.
Medvedev's counter-punching strategy and recurring reactions on court had caused observers to question if his capacity to perform at the highest level was concluded.
But the 29-year-old has altered his approach in the past month, attempting to advance forward and perform assertively, reinforced by an better serve.
The champion recovered from a deficit in the first set against the tricky opponent, taking four of the final five exchanges to go ahead.
Both players traded breaks in the middle set before Moutet, bidding for his first ATP Tour championship, took control to force a third set.
He defended 4 initial opportunities in a tight final set before the champion secured a break to fifteen to close out the victory.
Appropriately, he secured the title with a rally at the net, with his opponent failing to control a shot after over two and a half hours.
